Under exceptional circumstances the trainee may submit a written request stating the relevant reasons and a proper justification for the interruption of his traineeship.
The Head of the Traineeships Office may – after consultation with the adviser and the DG/ Service/ Agency to which the trainee is assigned – authorise the requested interruption for a given period.
In this case, the grant is suspended and the trainee is not entitled to reimbursement of any travel expenses which may arise during the period of interruption.
The trainee may return to complete the unfinished part of his training, but only up to the end of the same training period. No extension is possible.
Please note that the minimum duration of a traineeship is of 3 months. If the total duration will be shorter, you will not receive your traineeship certificate.
