No. There is no possibility of extending a traineeship within the traineeship programme.
The only exception is for members of the 'Liaison Committee'.
The Traineeships Office may allow:
- up to 4 trainees to stay on at the end of the October traineeship for 1 month, and
- up to 3 trainees to stay on at the end of the March traineeship for 3 months
This is in order to provide a link ('Liaison Committee') with the new intake of trainees.
The members of the Liaison Committee receive a new trainee placement offer and are then attached to the Traineeships Office. They work exclusively for the unit and not for the DG/Service/Agency they were attached to during their traineeship session.
