Blue Book Traineeship programme

What is an adviser and what can they do for me?

Your adviser is a staff member of the Unit who will have a similar role to a direct line manager during your traineeship.

You will be working with him/her and he/she will guide you during your work and time in the unit.

The adviser is responsible for:

  • monitoring the daily work of the trainee
  • welcoming the trainee into the unit and for introducing the trainee to staff
  • establishing the trainees job description and for explaining what the trainee is expected to do.

The adviser also has an administrative role (checks the absences, etc.).

The adviser will write a report about your performance at the end of your traineeship.
