I am chiranthaka from Sri Lanka. As a former Erasmus student I was always interested in Europe and European institutions. In search of opportunities, the Blue book traineeship came across me. I was working in the transport field back in my country and getting selected in DG MOVE was the best in terms of relevancy and content to the work I have been doing.

As a non EU trainee, I really appreciate and value the opportunity that I have received as it showed me how things are done in this part of the world. It gave me the exposure and knowledge on the practices and policies of the EU which I can be using in my future work.

Importantly the BBT was an excellent balance between work and social life in Brussels, which let me make new friends which were from different nationalities and various professional backgrounds. The cherished memories will stick around for a longtime if not for lifelong.
