DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture [EAC], Brussels
The five months as a trainee at the European Commission will definitely represent a significant turning point in my professional and personal life. Having an industrial engineering background, when I was selected to work in a non-technical unit at DG EAC, I had the feeling I was maybe going a bit too far out of my comfort zone.
Initially, it has been indeed challenging. However, it soon turned out to be incredibly rewarding. I had the chance to learn and to develop skills I never thought I had, while contributing to the work of the unit by bringing my ‘unconventional’ perspective.
Moreover, I had the opportunity to meet and work with truly inspiring colleagues from all around Europe and beyond. An enriching experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone!
