Responsibilities of Commission departments, services, (executive) agencies and bodies
- Policy departments, known as Directorates-General are responsible for different policy areas. They develop, implement and manage EU policies, law, and funding programmes.
- Service departments deal with particular administrative matters.
- Executive agencies manage programmes set up by the Commission.
What you will do
- Support policy development and implementation
- Contribute to research, analysis and reporting
- Assist with the organisation of meetings and events
- Answer to citizens' inquiries
- Participate in project work and team activities
- For traineeships at the Directorate-General for Interpretation (DG SCIC): support conference interpreting activities, including preparation of meetings, terminology research, and logistical assistance related to multilingual conferences.
Where you will work
Administrative trainees are placed in the European Commission departments and services, agencies and bodies, mainly in Brussels and Luxembourg.
Placements may also be offered in the Commission’s representations in the Member States. The location is determined at a later stage of the selection process, when candidates apply to specific traineeship positions.
